Hair Regimen

This is a quick Preview of what my Hair Regimen looks like and the steps I'm taking towards healthy hair.

Wash Days

I wash my hair once a week, and I try to do it on the same day every week. I start off by doing a "pre-poo" with Moroccan argon oil hydrating mask (or any oil and conditioner) to my hair 10 mins before I wash it. Then I rinse the mask and use a sulfate free shampoo (only to my scalp), and follow up with my Aussie deep conditioner. After about 5 minutes, I rinse that off with cold water and apply a thick combing conditioner that I leave in my hair (about two inches from my roots and down). I comb through my hair with my fingers (and once a month with my Denman) and then I seal by combing Moroccan oil through my hair once it is detangled.

Styling

I have cut out all types of heat from my regimen as my yearly challenge. Instead I air dry my hair and use an old t-shirt to soak in the moisture after I wash it. I try to avoid elastic bands and hair ties as much as possible, but I use hair ties when I work out. I use banana hair clips, headbands, and pins to style my hair daily or I will just leave it down.

Protective Styling

After wash day number one, I put my hair into two braids and then use a banana clip to clip it into a bun. I will leave this style in for 3-4 days. During the winter, I plan on incorporating protective styles 7 days a week. For the summer, 3-4 days a week is sufficient.

Vitamins

1000 mcg Biotin (planning on taking 5000 mcg when I run out of this one)
Women's multivitamin
500mcg Krill Oil

Hair Masks and Deep Conditioning Treatments

Olive Oil and Honey Mask
I will do this mask once a month, usually at the start of the month to encourage moisture and growth for the month to come!

Almond Oil and Honey Mask
Since this mask helps with frizz, I will do this mask twice every month, on my first wash day during the week.

Coconut Oil Hydrating Mask
I will do this once a month on the last wash day of the month. I will follow with a clarifying shampoo since the coconut oil should hydrate enough for my hair to be fine after clarifying.

Deep Conditioning Treatments
I will do this on the middle two wash days of the month (since the olive oil and coconut oil will be sufficient for the first and last wash day). I use Aussie's Deeep Conditioning 3 Minute Miracle. I follow with a leave-in conditioner spray.
