Patience
I'm really starting to get impatient. I want long flowing hair and I'm not even close. At this point, I would need to straighten my hair to get that effect but I'm not gonna. I just gotta stay patient and realize that my hair is growing. My length check is less than a month away and it will show how far I've come in these 4 months so maybe that will help. Can't wait to see! And a year from now... I just might have the long flowy hair

Goal Check and YouTube Page!
It's that time again! Another month has gone by and so I will review the goals that I set for myself last month and then set some new ones (cuz I'm always up for a challenge).
I'm loving goals more and more. They are pushing me to keep up with hair health even when I feel like I can't see immediate results. I have motivation to maintain my healthy curls and see the great lengths they can achieve when I do things right! Here is my review:
1) Continue Inverted Method challenge. Check!
2) Try at least one new style. Check!
3) Make a YouTube page with a video on hair growth tips. Check!
'Twas a successful month! The last goal was especially hard for me to get myself to do, but I did it. I love the inverted method and I'm continuing the challenge every month from here on out because I really believe it is helping my hair grow longer. This past month alone, I feel like my hair grew so much!
I ended up trying 2 new styles. Bantu knots and brushed out curls. I really liked how the brushed out curls came out. The bantu knots were okay but I think next time I will try it on dry hair. I read that people who did it that way had better results.
Finally... MY YOUTUBE PAGE! Yay :)

^ that is a link to my channel and I posted my first video! It pretty much chronicles my hair Journey from May through Present day. Here is the Vid!!
Hopefully I will post more videos in the future with hair challenge triumphs and videos of me styling my hair.
So Now, I will post my goals for next month.
1) Keep my hair in braids for a full week.
2) Try a new hair style.
3) Style my hair with a bow for Valentines Day.
I'm excited about these goals! I want to keep braids for a week so it encourages me to not touch my hair as much. Now that it's getting longer, I always want to touch it! I loved how the new styles worked out last month so I want to do it again for this month. And I love bows so I want to look nice for Valentines Day even though I won't be having a Valentine besides my Dad I guess haha. :)
Happy Hair Journey Ladies and hope everyone is keeping up with their goals!

Thick ends!
Since I barely damage my hair anymore, my ends have been staying thick!! This is the main reason I am retaining so much length. Avoiding direct heat and mostly finger detangling are the main things getting me these results!

If you Love it, it will grow and length will show
Just wanted to post recent pics of my hair (stretched and not stretched). It's starting to get really long :)
I'm extra happy because the ends are still very thick. My hair has different lengths depending what I do to it when it is wet. Here are some comparisons within only a 3 week span.

This is a wash and go. My hair shrinks up to just under collarbone length.
This is my hair after a braid-out. It is a couple inches past collarbone
This is after bantu knots. It is my shortest length since it is just above my collarbone
These four pics are my curls completely brushed and stretched. It is my longest length, just about reaching armpit length.
These pics help display my shrinkage and how different styles emphasize it or make it disappear. I don't have a preferable style out of all these. I like how they all look. By far, the braid out is the easiest and the nicest to me on wash day so I usually stick with that. Today was my most recent wash day, so here are pictures of my wet hair.
My wet hair is almost to bra-strap length. I think stretched, it probably reaches bra-strap length now. I will find out in February the results of my current length. :)
Happy HHJ!

Retro style
Happy New Year everyone!
As 2014 rolls on in, I am looking forward to a year of spiritual growth, healthy lifestyle, and serving others. Hair growth will reap benefits if I focus on those things, and I plan on concentrating on important things in life. I don't want to obsess over something silly like hair.
All my life, I always obsessed over having the perfect hair, whether I wanted long hair or straight hair. I am finally at a place where I don't have to wish for something I don't have. I am making things happen by going on my healthy hair journey. Once I shifted my focus on health rather than type or length, my hair started thriving.
In February, I will be doing my 3rd length check and see how my winter efforts paid off. Ultimately my hair looks extremely healthy and thick and I won't be concerned with how much it grew.
My bangs are growing in nicely and I actually wore them out today instead of clipping them up. What do you think? :)
Start the year off with resolutions and goals that are going to inspire you to make positive changes in your life. Sometimes that means cutting out the stuff that's getting in the way (sometimes literally). I am thrilled and inspired by the journey I've been going on and I hope you are too.
